To grow your knowledge, grow your relationships. And, to grow your relationships, grow your knowledge.
David Newham, Aboriginal Cultural Educator
We live in the most extraordinary time ever in human history. Past, present and future are converging as never before. To understand and navigate where we are going, we must understand from where we came.
The globe is changing. Australia is changing. And we all need to change with it. Whether you see it as a matter of personal survival, global commitment or future economic opportunity, every business and community leader needs to understand their changing relationship with the environment, technology and society – and Indigenous culture and knowledge systems are the world’s most successful ways to understand that.
The ways of Indigenous Nations globally are coming to the fore. The stories of the ancestors and their relationships with the land, spirit and with each other, are offering a new hope for the future. We need to think long-term, in the ways the ancestors did, and consider what life will be like, seven generations ahead of ours. Aboriginal Culture and Spirituality can unite us, as Australians. First we need to understand. This cultural immersion will begin that journey towards understanding a better way forward for all Australians.
3.5 Days of Total Immersion in Aboriginal Culture
1. Beyond Traditional Education
We’ve experienced great agility and adaptability during this time of accelerated change. Yet nothing significant will change without growth, deep learning and respect for the roads already travelled, by those that have come before.
2. Walking With and Sitting In Country
Visit places of cultural significance. When you stand on the land and share stories in the moment from the oldest known culture, a significant shift takes place in how you look at life, your communities and the planet.
3. Aboriginal Elders
Our cultural leaders are experts in knowledge sharing and storytelling. Through the sharing of this knowledge and wisdom, we will be immersed in an Indigenous Seventh Generation mindset. The fireside conversations will enlighten and inspire.
4. Integrating the Old and the New
Collaboration across minds and fields is paramount to our future success. Through understanding, you will be empowered to integrate our history with our future. Together, we will create a legacy that we will proudly leave those that will follow.
What you will learn
Long Term Thinking
Short term thinking has led us to uncertainty, division, anger and chaos. Long term thinking has the ability to unite all peoples, all cultures, all generations.
How the Data of the Past Creates the Opportunities of the Future
Data collection began thousands of years ago. How might we integrate the data of the past, with that of the present, to create a future of abundance.
How to Ensure a Diverse and Inclusive Future
Diversity and inclusion were once the domain of specified sections of large corporations and governments. Shifting mindsets to create a better future for all is now everyone’s responsibility. You cannot change what you do not understand.
Future Forecasting
To create the future you must imagine it, then bring it to life. This requires courage and strategy, teamwork and process, and knowledge of what has come before.
Culture
You will share in story around a campfire, be transported back thousands of years, visit sacred sites and partake in aboriginal customs.
